“This is a pretty large-scale drug bust” is how a police spokesperson for the Anne Arundel County Police Department in Maryland describes a bust that occurred on April 8 at around 11 in the morning. Detectives went to a home on Solley Road with a search and seizure warrant that morning and allegedly seized more than $300,000 worth of guns, drugs and money.
Detectives allege that the son tried to leave the property from a window. They said he threw out cash when he tried to escape.
Police officers think that the father and son duo have been working for some time under the radar. When detectives searched the house, they found around 12 grams of cocaine, 919 grams of heroin, 50 grams of marijuana and 710 grams of crack cocaine. They also claim to have found $172,673, drug paraphernalia and a handgun. When searching a pickup truck owned by the father, they are said to have found drug paraphernalia and what is thought to be crack cocaine in the truck.
The 34-year-old son and 57-year-old father both face several drug charges relating to this drug bust. Despite his effort to escape, the list of charges the son faces doesn’t include one for that attempt.
These men are facing a litany of charges that they must figure out how to answer to. Understanding each charge placed against them and the potential consequences of a conviction might help them to decide how to handle their case. They should get their questions answered prior to any court appearances to ensure they can properly build a strong defense against the charges.
