The 24-year-old man who allegedly caused a fatal two-vehicle accident has been charged with two DWI charges. The accident took place in Kingsville, Maryland. According to reports, the young driver’s Chevrolet Silverado pickup truck crossed the center line and collided head-on with a Mazda Protege. The driver of the Mazda sustained serious injuries because of the crash. His passenger was thrown from the vehicle and was transported to Franklin Square Medical Center, where he died from his injuries. He was not wearing a seat belt. Both drivers, who were reported to be in stable condition after the accident, were emergency airlifted to the University of Maryland Shock Trauma Center.

While the driver of the pickup truck has been charged with driving under the influence, a spokesperson for the Baltimore County Police Department said that charges were not related to either illicit drug use or alcohol.
