Maryland men face theft charges, stolen merchandise recovered

The lure to get things can sometimes lead people to do so through methods that aren't normally used. Taking things in this method can sometimes lead to criminal charges. For two Maryland men, having things in their possession that were taken from other people has resulted in them facing theft charges.

The Maryland State Police served search warrants on South Reed Street and Catherine Street, both in Bel Air. In addition to merchandise that was reportedly stolen, they found three handguns, ammunition, suspected marijuana, 15 pills thought to be oxycodone and suspected drug paraphernalia. As of yet, the handguns haven't been identified as stolen weapons.

They recovered a Blue Point tool cart with a value of $4,500, nine cases of automotive fluids valued at around $750, nine Dodge rims with tires with an estimated value of over $5,850 and four Metal Moto chrome wheels with a value of around $4,500.

One of the men was charged with fourth-degree burglary, second-degree burglary and theft -- $1,000 to under $10,000. He is being held on a $5,000 bond at the Harford County Detention Center.

The other man was charged with firearms violations, resisting arrest, several drug charges and four counts of theft -- $1,000 to under $10,000. He is being held on a $750,000 bond.

Both of these men have to make sure that they understand why they have been charged with these criminal counts. They should make sure they understand their plea options and the consequences of convictions. Knowing Maryland laws might help them to prepare a proper defense.
